Flora exists even in upper Estes Canyon high up in the Peloncillo Mountains. The photo seen here was taken during monsoon season and used as background for this page. Although, located in the desert southwest, the Sycamore Ranch has an abundance of such flora and numerous wild life. Few know that fresh spring water runs year round in this canyon.
The spring shown above is the only major water source in Estes Canyon, at least that surfaces. Life in Estes depends on this one spring for year round survival.
This photo depicts runoff from the upper sping in Estes Canyon. Nature works miracles where human hands fail. This cowboy revamped the spring to allow water for passing cattle and wildlife.
